Our History

Founded in 2000 as Ethical Investing Australia, RIAA began with a small group of financial advisers and investors directing capital toward positive environmental and social outcomes.

By 2002, we published the first responsible investment benchmarking report and helped mandate ESG disclosure by fund managers.

In 2007, we rebranded, broadened our focus from negative screening to ESG integration and launched the Responsible Investment Certification Program.

Today, with over 500 members managing the vast majority ofprofessionally invested assets in Australia and New Zealand, RIAA remains dedicated to aligning capital with a healthier society, environment, and economy.
